Lisa has loved nature since she was a little girl growing up near Natchez, Mississippi, exploring the neighboring woods and fields with her brothers. She has a deep appreciation not only for flowers, but for the vines, branches, berries and pods she forages that take her arrangements from merely pretty to exceptional.
She learned about flowers and gardening from her mother and grandmothers, who grew roses, ranunculus and hydrangeas, and who gave her an enduring appreciation of beauty. Her garden-inspired style emphasizes specialty blooms interspersed with unusual touches, encouraging the viewer to stop and take time to appreciate the wonder of nature.
After a career in sales and marketing followed by raising a family, Lisa was compelled to explore her naturally creative side. In 2011 she contacted a leading New Orleans floral designer and asked to be his apprentice. He took her on, and she furthered her training in both New York City and the Bay Area of California. In 2013 she launched her own floral design company, Petite Fleur by Lisa Brooking. Her business has grown tremendously, primarily by word of mouth.
Petite Fleur, based in New Orleans, offers custom florals for celebrations such as rehearsal dinners, holiday parties, intimate corporate events and dinner parties. Orders for single arrangements are also welcome, with delivery in the New Orleans area. Lisa brings her passion for nature to creating the perfect custom-made arrangements for every client.
